Our Story
SKLLD was born in 2021 during the height of the Great Resignation. The news was filled with companies loudly saying that "no one wants to work and we have a worker shortage!" But behind the scenes, millions of unemployed Americans were quietly begging for a second -- or even first -- chance to succeed.
This wasn't a worker shortage at all; it was a mismatch! We asked ourselves "how could we help employers find the candidates that are right in front of them"?
After countless hours spent interviewing stakeholders at every level -- employers, jobseekers, and workforce development boards -- we arrived at a conclusion: put humanity back in hiring, and let employers and jobseekers actually get to know each other.
Since then, we've been relentlessly pursuing a solution that is accessible, easy to use, and creates opportunity for all.
Our Mission
Getting a job is hard. Many of the "solutions" created to make it easier have actually made it harder. Job boards. Applicant Tracking Systems. AI generated job postings. Sound familiar?
SKLLD's mission is to simplify hiring. We eliminate the noise and focus solely on the most essential element of hiring -- the Human Element. It is our mission to help jobseekers and employers authentically connect -- even before the interview.
